CICLO 01 - 2026
This course explores the main paradigms that have shaped the learning and teaching of the English language. Students will examine the theoretical perspectives behind language acquisition, including behaviorist, innatist, and interactionist theories, and analyze how these ideas have influenced different second language teaching methods and approaches.

Throughout the course, students will study key methodologies such as the Grammar Translation Method, Direct Method, Audiolingual Method, Total Physical Response, Communicative Language Teaching, and Task-Based Learning. By exploring these approaches, students will develop the ability to critically evaluate their contributions, strengths, and limitations in language learning contexts.

The course combines theoretical analysis, discussion, and practical activities to help students connect linguistic theory with classroom practice. By the end of the course, students will be able to analyze language learning paradigms and apply their insights to the teaching and learning of English as a second language.
